Final Week for IBMA Showcase Applications!

Image635603142504045929The World of Bluegrass Showcase opportunities exist to help introduce emerging bands to the bluegrass community.

Even established bands with new personnel or new music take advantage of the once-a-year window.

This year, up to 30 showcase artists will be invited, depending on the number of applicants and the qualifications of groups that apply.

IBMA showcase artists are chosen in a juried selection process that takes into consideration every applicant’s entertainment value, level of professionalism, potential appeal and quality of work. There are generally more than 100 acts who apply every year.

"IBMA showcasing has been a vital part of Flatt Lonesome's career. Showcasing gives you much exposure in a short amount of time and also shows that you are serious about getting your music out in every avenue possible. This past year at IBMA we played 9 different showcases in just a few days! My advice to other bands would be to be everywhere! Make it a priority to be seen -- everywhere! Jam in the lobbies, jam in the hallways and showcase as much as possible!"         - Kelsi Robertson, Flatt Lonesome

All applicants are required to submit a $25 fee to help defray selection process costs. If invited to participate as an official showcase artist, there is an additional fee of $500 to offset costs of services and showcase production.

Online application for IBMA showcases must be submitted by February 28, 2015.

For more information and to apply on line, see the IBMA website.
