Happy 90th Birthday Mac Wiseman!!!

You might say that Mac Wiseman, "The Voice with a Heart," has seen it all when it comes to Bluegrass and Country Music.  He has witnessed at least seven decades of music history firsthand.

Malcolm B. Wiseman,better known as Mac Wiseman, is an American bluegrass singer, nicknamed The Voice with a Heart. He is one of the cult figures of bluegrass.  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mac_WisemanAt one time, as a member of The Blue Grass Boys, he was on hand as Hank Williams Sr. debuted  on the Grand Ole Opry - setting an Opry record to be the first ever to receive six ovations.

Wiseman, a former radio broadcaster, was a key player on the team that helped to create the Country Music Association.

This  Saturday, the Country Music Hall of Famer and International Bluegrass Music Association Hall of Honor recipient will celebrate his 90th birthday with a lot of good friends.

A "friendly roast" of Wiseman is being organized at the Texas Troubadour Theatre.   Expected to be in attendance and on stage are: Jesse McReynolds, Ronnie Reno and Martha & Eddie Adcock

Wiseman's musical career began as upright bass player in the band of country singer Molly O'Day.  Later he went on to play with Lester Flatt & Earl Scruggs' new band THE FOGGY MOUNTAIN BOYS after they left Bill Monroe's band.

In 1993 he was inducted into the International Bluegrass Music Hall of Honor and in 2014 the Country Music Hall of Fame added his name to their roster.
