Country’s Family Reunion (the DVD/Television series that brings America’s most-treasured artists together to reunite and reminisce) will premiere episodes of its latest offering “Country’s Family Reunion: Simply Bluegrass” beginning Friday, March 7 at 8 p.m. Eastern/7 p.m. Central on RFD-TV and FamilyNet.
We have sketchy information but with today's digital media it seems that is only par for the course. A short announcement on the Del McCoury "Blue Side of Town" Facebook Page this afternoon has announced the end of his radio broadcast.
This week's edition of The Blue Side of Town with Del McCoury, is our final syndicated episode. Thanks to all of the stations and webcasters who have aired our show!...according to the social media post.
The show's Airplay Direct page where broadcasters obtain the digital files for broadcast had little else to fill in for details saying only that they've made all of the segments from 2014 available for stations who need to phase out the show.
No reason was given for the program's demise.

An avid river rafter and nature lover, Laurie Lewis says she and long-time singing partner Tom Rozum seriously missed the negative ions and sights, sounds and smells of the river last year due to both of their scheduled trips being cancelled on account of forest fires.
"We , and are excited about returning this year," says Laurie, "Tom Rozum and I will be making two trips down two of our favorite wild rivers this year."

Inducted in 1964, Bluegrass legends Jim & Jesse are celebrating 50 Years as members of the GRAND OLE OPRY this year. On March 1st the Grand Ole Opry® will honor Jesse McReyonlds as he celebrates his 50th year as a member of the Grand Ole Opry®. The success of their 60’s radio shows prompted Martha White Flour to bring them to Nashville to star on their early morning show on WSM.

Bluegrass and old-time music joined the ranks of governors and iconic news broadcasters last week when Carolina Chocolate Drops founding member, Rhiannon Giddens was awarded the Sam Ragan Fine Arts Award at St. Andrews University.
The presentation was made to Ms. Giddens on February 20th during the weekly Writers' Forum in North Carolina.
The guys spent February 5-6 working with Wesley Easter at Eastwood Studios in Cana, VA, where they were able to start working on about five songs.
All proceeds from downloads or CD purchases will go two different funds for Colorado flood relief.
In prior years the International Bluegrass Music Museum in Owensboro, KY had hosted the only major camp dedicated solely to the mandolin styles of Bill Monroe.
